Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
critically reflect on current local and global issues and their significance to science teaching by exploring 21st century knowledge and practice of the science curriculum in secondary schools
demonstrate a sound knowledge of the concepts and content of the Australian Curriculum or NSW syllabus Science Year 7 – 10 and ability to translate into practice
integrate the Australian cross curriculum priorities, and general capabilities, emphasising sustainability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander science and cultures, critical and creative thinking, ethical understanding, digital technologies, literacy and numeracy
apply suitable laboratory safety including WH&S management, behaviour management, and risk management, in relation to the laboratory and fieldwork
