Unit aim

Provides students with the opportunity to enhance their professional praxis through collaborative and reflexive action learning. Designed for students who wish to focus upon change and/or improvement in relation to a particular aspect of their professional practice. Students can also implement an evaluation planned through CYS03347.

Unit content

  1. Understanding professional practice (theories in use, espoused theories, practical wisdom)
  2. Reflexive practice and the nature and process of collaborative and participatory action learning
  3. Identifying and articulating an aspects of practice for change and improvement
  4. Data collection for action learning or evaluation
  5. Disseminating learning to a community of professionals
