Unit description

Provides students with the opportunity to build on knowledge and skills developed in Professional Experiences I and II through a further classroom teaching experience as well as professional development or volunteer work in the wider education community. Students extend their understanding of how schools and teachers work within their communities, and what it means to be an effective and competent teacher.

Module 1: Professional Development - where to now? Module 1 requires you to attend online tutorials 

Module 2: Professional Experience III This module requires students to: - undertake Professional Experience III in a block of time. This must be completed during the study period.

4 an understanding of the importance of involving parents and caregivers in the educative process and the use of a number of strategies to seek that involvement
5 the capacity to work effectively with external professionals, teachers' aides and community-based personnel to enhance student learning opportunities
6 the capacity to liaise, communicate and interact effectively and appropriately with parents, caregivers, colleagues, industry and the local community. On completion of Professional Experience III, students should have achieved the Graduate Teacher Standards.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
