Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 design a physical education lesson that incorporates key pedagogical practices appropriate for various physical activity contexts
2 deliver a physical education lesson to students that adopts appropriate pedagogical practices for effective physical education teaching
3 evaluate and critically reflect on their delivery of the physical education lesson
4 design a risk assessment on a designated sport utilizing the Guidelines for safe Conduct in Sport and Physical Education
5 develop a rationale that draws on contemporary literature and discusses the value of PDHPE
6 demonstrates well-developed written and oral communication skills, as appropriate to the needs and expectations of the profession.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
