Unit aim

Explores the nature of issues and are introduced to the critical enquiry methods required in the context of Arts and Business Studies. Students will learn how to write a report and communicate their explanations and conclusions.

Unit content

The unit consists of nine topics:

  1. Issues and academic enquiry
  2. Introducing reports
  3. Reading and writing for reports and assessments
  4. Defining sustainability
  5. Background to the issue of sustainability
  6. Sustainability: Principles and perspectives
  7. Refining reports: Editing and proofreading
  8. Sustainability initiatives
  9. Conclusions, recommendations and executive summaries
