Unit aim
Explores the nature of issues and are introduced to the critical enquiry methods required in the context of Arts and Business Studies. Students will learn how to write a report and communicate their explanations and conclusions.
Unit content
The unit consists of ten topics:
- Unit introduction
- Introduction to issues and scholarly enquiry
- Critically reading perspectives in newspaper articles
- Introducing the culture of enquiry in Arts or Business studies
- Case study issue: Sustainability
- Case study issue: Unsustainable ways of living
- Case study issue: Promoting sustainable lifestyles
- Report intensive: getting started
- Report intensive: final phases
- Looking forward, looking back.
