assess the structure, properties and characteristics of timber and timber products

describe timber recovery and conversion processes and the production of manufactured boards

select appropriate timber or timber products for uses in a range of consumer, commercial and industrial contexts

demonstrate sound industry-specific workplace communication skills including literacy, numeracy and graphics communication approaches such as orthogonal and pictorial representations and industry production drawing specifications

describe and demonstrate appropriate WH&S and maintenance practices for a timber workshop environment

demonstrate broad foundational skills and methods for joinery, construction and finishing of timber products

apply appropriate principles and techniques for the design, preparation, manufacture and presentation of timber products.
