DES10648 - Vocational Skills and Knowledge in Graphics and Multimedia (2015)

Recognises students' learning through the completion of a vocational qualification equivalent to either the TAFE (or other recognised VET provider) Certificate III in Design Fundamentals(Graphic Design) or a Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology (Multimedia) including the completion of essential modules or equivalents as outlined by the School of Education.

Students completing the Certificate III Design Fundamentals (Graphics Design) should note the following required  competencies
Required  modules  or equivalents
1. Explore the use of colour
2. Explore and apply the creative design process to 2D forms
3. Source and apply design industry knowledge
4. Participate in WHS processes
5. Produce drawings to represent and communicate ideas
6. Explore and apply the creative design process to 3D forms
7.  Produce technical drawings.
8. Source and apply information on the history and theory of design
9.  Create digital 3D models
10.  Use typography techniques
11. Follow a design process
12.  Produce computer aided drawings
13. Experiment with technique to produce calligraphy
Students completing the Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology (Multimedia) should note the following required modules:

1. Participate effectively in OHS communication and consultative processes
2. Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices
3. Work and communicate effectively in an IT environment
4. Create user documentation
5. Install and optimise operating system software
6. Run standard diagnostic tests
7. Create 2D Digital animations
8. Create 3D Digital animations
9. Apply simple modelling techniques
10. Design and apply simple textures to digital art
11. Review and apply the principles of animation
12. Review and maintain a website
13. Produce digital images for the web
