Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 understand the structure of, management and teaching of the NSW Technology (Mandatory) Stage 4 course
2 discuss the characteristics and properties of a range of materials used in the NSW Technology (Mandatory) Stage 4 course
3 demonstrate skills in using a variety of ICTs and other methods to design, produce graphic representations and use software applications appropriate to graphics and media technologies
4 demonstrate knowledge of and skills in the responsible selection and safe use of materials, tools and techniques related to current and emerging food, textile, timber, electronics, metal, polymers, graphics and media technologies
5 explain WHS issues related to the teaching of the NSW Technology (Mandatory) Stage 4 course
6 produce a collection of practical work samples and reflect on personal learning and ongoing goals in demonstrating knowledge and skills in six technologies applicable to the NSW Technology (Mandatory) Stage 4 course
7 demonstrate knowledge of designers, the nature of their work, the processes they follow, and the factors that influence their decisions.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
