CSC00239 Object Oriented Programming

Unit aim

The object-oriented paradigm is presented from first principles from both a design and a programming viewpoint. The Unified Modelling Language (UML) is used to model object-oriented (OO) designs and these designs are implemented using a professional object-oriented programming language.

Unit content

  1. Classes and objects
  2. Object lifetime
  3. UML use-case, class, sequence and other diagrams
  4. Inheritance
  5. Exceptions
  6. Interfaces and dynamic binding
  7. Generics and Collections
  8. LINQ
  9. Advance object-oriented language features

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
