Unit aim

Provides students with methods, skills and tools to analyse, contextualise, develop, optimise and manage contemporary multimedia resources for enhancing user experience. It takes students through the creative production of multimedia resources to build functional interactive applications. Students also examine issues related to performance, privacy, security and cultural aspects of multimedia products.

Module 1: Introduction to digital media, animation and graphics
Module 2: Audio and video effects and encoding
Module 3: Designing for multi-modal interactivity
Module 4: Storage and delivery of multimedia products
Module 5: Managing multimedia production
Module 6: Performance, privacy, security and cultural aspects of multimedia products

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
