Unit aim
Develops students’ understanding of individual’s use of personal mobile computing devices within an enterprise and how such devices may be used to engineer optimal efficiencies and effectiveness of enterprise processes. Students will examine technologies, interfaces, infrastructure and strategies for the deployment of systems that enable the use of personal computing devices in an enterprise both internally for employee activities and externally with the client base.
Unit content
Topic 1: Mobile technologies in an enterprise: types and applications; infrastructure for use and business strategy.
Topic 2: Evolving human-computer interfaces
Topic 3: Strategic approach and framework for integrating individuals’ mobile technologies in an enterprise
Topic 4: Evolving opportunities for client liaison based around mobile devices and social networking
Topic 5: individuals’ mobile technologies in an enterprise: developing and implementing projects; security, ethical and societal issues.
Topic 6: Issues arising from current trends and future directions.
