Unit aim

Provides historical and theoretical perspectives on video art, sound art and digital art practices via investigations into art history, popular culture and the ubiquitous presence of new media technologies in daily life. The unit examines socio-political issues underpinning a range of time-based art practices, with a particular focus on the history of subversive and counter-cultural treatments of new media.
