Unit aim

This unit will provide students with the opportunity to apply the theories, concepts and skills they have acquired during their degree to a real-world situation. They will apply their knowledge to a management situation in the for-profit, not-for-profit or voluntary sector. Students will assess and analyse a workplace situation in order to develop a solution for implementation in Industry Project II.

  1. Introduction to industry research
  2. Asking the right questions, including ethical dimensions of research projects
  3. Overview of quantitative research methods.
  4. Overview of qualitative reserach methods.
  5. Developing a research project: key concepts of managing a project.
  6. Designing a research project
