This Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit provides students with practical work-based experience, gained through a discipline-specific industry placement. In this double-weighted unit, students gain the opportunity to apply concepts and principles from their discipline to the work environment and reflect on their associated personal and professional development.
Module 1: WIL and experiential learning
Module 2: Goal setting – placement and beyond
Module 3: Managing expectations
Module 4: Organisational structure and culture
Module 5: Navigating organisational constraints
Module 6: Personal and professional development
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
