Unit aim

Extends students' experience in digital art and design by allowing scope for an extended project and prepares students for professional involvement.

Unit content

Topic 1: Introduction, proposal writing and planning workflow
Topic 2: Exhibition planning, installation practice
Topic 3: 3D graphics and introduction to 3D modelling
Topic 4: Review/extend vector imagery–drawing profiles for revolving and extruded forms
Topic 5: Review/extend typographic practice–take from 2D to 3D
Topic 6: Exploring moving forms and video
Topic 7: Review/extend bitmap imagery–mapping 3D forms
Topic 8: Outputting digital files for different outcomes
Topic 9: High end print and projection output
Topic 10: Self-reflection and critical analysis of extended projects in installation

6 demonstrate an understanding of the professional digital visual art and design industry by presentation of a portfolio of works for exhibition, display or presentation to a commercial client.
