Unit aim

Examines the causes, the prevention and the rehabilitation of various forms of land degradation. These forms include: soil erosion by wind and water; soil structural degradation; acidification; mass movement; salinity; water repellence and biological degradation. The design of soil conservation structures, the economics of land degradation and land capability classification are also examined.
