Unit description

This unit provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in veterinary practice. They will be competent in veterinary practice operations, be culturally aware, and communicate effectively in the workplace.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

perform administrative tasks collaboratively with host veterinary teams in the admission, management, and discharge of patients, including the application of practice management software

apply veterinary clinical knowledge including patient assessment and communication to contribute to the professional and efficient operation of the facility

communicate proficiently and with cultural competence with clients and veterinary practice staff and critically reflect on communication and professional practice.
