Unit description

This unit provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in veterinary practice. They will be competent in their animal handling, be culturally aware, and communicate effectively in the workplace.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply well-developed knowledge and skills to contribute to the professional and efficient operation of the facility

demonstrate proficiency and cultural competency in communicating with clients and veterinary practice staff while engaging in reflective practice

demonstrate proficiency in working collaboratively to handle and restrain a variety of animal species commonly encountered in veterinary practice.
