Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

integrate anaesthesia knowledge and practice to plan and execute patient pre-anaesthetic risk assessments across a range of common veterinary species

apply pain and analgesia knowledge to assess and assist with the formulation of treatment plans across a range of common veterinary species

apply anaesthesia and supportive care knowledge to plan, monitor, and manage anaesthesia through to recovery across a range of common veterinary species while engaging in reflective practice

demonstrate proficiency in the selection, preparation, and maintenance of different types of anaesthetic equipment.
