Unit description

Applies core managerial, operational and regulatory concepts to air transport, including aviation economics, air transport network, airline scheduling and business models. A significant part of this unit makes use of Simulate!, a digital airline strategic management simulator, involving intense individual and group work.

Learning outcomes

Understand the importance of aviation and non-aviation factors to successfully establish and maintain sustainable air routes

Analyse and discuss key managerial, operational and regulatory aviation concepts and issues

Apply the theory involved in aviation management to a digital simulator aiming to establish an airline as a profitable enterprise

Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and analytical skill, report writing and communication skills in discussing the management and operation of international aviation
