Students must enrol prior to Week 1. This unit provides intensive workshops which begin on day 1 of teaching and assessment aligned with the Early Childhood Placement.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
analyse the National Quality Framework for the provision of preschool educational and care contexts in terms of quality, policy and practice
critically analyse and apply theoretical, developmental and practical perspectives of pedagogy for pre-schoolers’ learning by developing and implementing the planning cycle
critically reflect upon your teaching philosophy with a focus on inclusion, diversity and supporting children’s strengths and capabilities
make sound professional judgement on ethical practices regarding values, beliefs and understanding about teaching young children
