    This unit contains Work Integrated Learning (WIL) that involves placement in a school setting. Students MUST enrol in this unit by the date specified by the Professional Experience Team to ensure that a placement can be arranged. Prior to attending, students must meet mandatory fit to practice obligations and provide evidence of compliance with all pre-placement requirements. Failure to comply by the deadline will result in the cancellation of your WIL and you will not be permitted to continue in the unit. Participation and attendance at the residential, is compulsory. Unit description

This unit provides students with the opportunity to practise and develop their learning and teaching in a professional environment. Before the placement, students undertake an orientation to prepare for the expectations and requirements of the professional environment. During placement, students record and reflect on their experiences as informed by relevant course content, professional standards, and principles.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply relevant standards and principles within a professional context with support, demonstrating foundational understanding and initial attempts at appropriate implementation.

record and justify examples of professional practice that demonstrate relevance to professional standards and expectations, with support.

reflect on professional experiences to identify key learnings, challenges, and areas for development with support, demonstrating foundational insight and self-awareness.
