    This unit contains Professional Experience that involves placement in a school/service setting. Students must meet mandatory placement checks and provide evidence of compliance with all pre-placement requirements before being placed. Failure to comply by the deadline will result in the cancellation of your Professional Experience, which means you will be withdrawn and not be permitted to continue in this unit. Early Enrolment Date: Students MUST enrol by the date specified by the Professional Experience Team to ensure that placement can be arranged. All students are required to meet participation requirements, including compulsory attendance at the residential, either online or face-to-face. For students in the Bachelor of Education Secondary or Technology Specialisations, TCHR2012 - Professional Experience II - Secondary and TCHR2014 - Professional Experience III - Secondary are linked placements undertaken in the same Dual Term.

Unit description

Provides students with the opportunity to practise and develop their learning and teaching by being immersed in a Secondary school environment. Before the placement, students undertake an orientation to prepare for the expectations and requirements of the professional environment. During the placement, students record and reflect on their experiences as informed by relevant course content and professional standards and principles. After the placement, students submit a logbook as evidence of their engagement in the professional environment.
