Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 demonstrate a working knowledge of the concepts and senior curriculum from an educational jurisdiction other than NSW in the subject areas of Senior History, Geography, or Society and Culture and demonstrate a familiarity with the concepts and content
2 prepare and present a unit of work based around a case study in one of the above syllabus areas that reflects a well-developed ability to plan, assess and report for effective learning and that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of specific strategies for teaching students with diverse needs and abilities.
3 prepare and present two (2) detailed lesson plans based around a teaching resource and develop a unit of work in one of the curriculum areas that reflect a well-developed ability to engage students and address learning outcomes.
4 demonstrate a well-developed ability to utilise a range of strategies to assess student achievement of learning outcomes, and to report the achievement of learning outcomes.
5 demonstrate well-developed written and oral communication skills, as appropriate to the needs and expectations of the profession.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
