Enrolment information
Students are required to meet participation requirements in this unit. Attendance is compulsory. All students must attend for a total of 42 hours. Online students are required to attend a 6 day residential at the Gold Coast Campus. Gold Coast students are required to attend 6 x 7 hour seminars delivered as one day workshops across the term. Further details, including dates, will be advised via the Blackboard site. This unit should be completed after SWRK5001 and SWRK5002.
Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
critically analyse different approaches to social work practice with individuals and their friends and families, including social casework, case management, crisis intervention, relationship counselling, and family therapy
critically evaluate different practice theories relevant to particular social work contexts and modes of practice
demonstrate effective communication skills in working with involuntary clients and their partners or families
