Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

form, maintain and end professional relationships with clients and colleagues in a human service organisation

demonstrate and critically reflect on effective communication with clients, colleagues and other key stakeholders

analyse the organisation, its location within wider social systems and its relationship with other organisations, such as auspicing bodies and funding agencies

analyse the ways in which a social work service is provided within the organisation

make use of professional supervision to increase learning about social work practice, including the identification of learning needs

demonstrate the capacity for critical thinking and analysis in relation to one's own research project
