Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply a body of interdisciplinary knowledge to social work practice with vulnerable and marginalised individuals, groups and communities

demonstrate the capacity for critical thinking, practical reasoning and critical reflection in action and on action

articulate and integrate underpinning knowledge in trauma and attachment, strength based approaches, feminist and critical perspectives in the application of skills to assess, engage and intervene in complex case situations

respectfully, skilfully and ethically work with challenging issues including conflict, aggression, addiction and resistance, at the micro, mezzo and macro level of social work practice
