Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
understand the relationship between people and their environment and implications for physical and mental health and well being across the life cycle, with reference to dominant discourses and constructions of mental and physical health
explain the relevance an understanding of health and well being across the life cycle with reference to attachment relationships, life transitions, gender identity and sexual orientation
identify the impact of socio-economic status, life opportunities, loss, grief , trauma and environment on the mental and physical health and well being of individuals, groups and communities and develop a social work response
demonstrate an understanding of the role of social workers in diverse locations and using various modes of intervention
demonstrate an understanding of the service users' experience and perspective
