Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
apply theory and logic relevant to psychological measurement and advanced quantitative statistics to diverse research data
construct a psychometric test and test its structure, psychometric properties, and construct validity
evaluate, select and perform appropriate and complete statistical analyses to assess real-world research questions
report and interpret findings of analyses in accordance with approved conventions in psychology
Prescribed learning resources
- No prescribed texts.
IBM-SPSS. Students need to have access to the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). All campus computers have the 'Premium" pack installed. If purchasing SPSS, the “Standard Version” is the minimum requirement and the "Premium Grad Pack" is the preferred option (as it includes missing data analysis). SPSS can be downloaded as a 30-day free trial before license purchase
Prescribed Learning Resources may change in future Teaching Periods.
