Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
describe the underlying logic of statistical analyses and apply this logic to diverse research-based scenarios
conduct advanced statistical analyses on a variety of authentic data sets
evaluate the appropriateness of analytic approaches to answer research questions in psychology
interpret the results of analyses using a variety of approaches and communicate this using approved conventions in psychology
Prescribed learning resources
- No prescribed texts.
All online students are required to have access to SPSS. If you cannot access this at a local campus, it may be purchased from http://www.hearne.com.au/Software/SPSS-Grad-Packs-for-Students-by-IBM/Editions#version_Statistics. You can buy a one year licence for the Grad Pak. Please purchase the standard version, as the base version does not have the functionality you require for some of the analyses.
Prescribed Learning Resources may change in future Teaching Periods.
