Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the concepts of probability, statistical inference, and regression and correlation
make appropriate decisions based on the task requirements, by selecting and applying appropriate statistical procedures and interpreting the results obtained
communicate statistical ideas, processes and results effectively at different levels of formality
use an appropriate spreadsheet or statistical software in statistical analysis
interpret statistical output.
