Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify and evaluate risk factors, signs, and symptoms associated with swallowing and feeding disorders in children

plan and evaluate speech pathology practices for children with non-complex swallowing and/or feeding disorders

identify and explain the impact of neuroanatomical and neuropsychological changes on swallowing function in acquired health conditions

evaluate, plan, and justify speech pathology assessment for investigating concerns related to swallowing and/or feeding disorders in adults and/or children

plan and justify speech pathology interventions for adults with swallowing and/or feeding disorders
