Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

measure and rate symptoms of fluency disorders using scientifically supported methods of relevance to contemporary speech pathology practice

demonstrate knowledge of scientific theories and other factors that contribute to contemporary understanding of the clinical presentation of fluency disorders in children and adults

plan and justify speech pathology assessment for child and adult clients presenting with fluency disorders

analyse and interpret speech pathology assessment data from child and adult clients with fluency disorders

plan evidence-based and holistic speech pathology intervention for child and adult clients presenting with fluency disorders

model speech pathology assessment and intervention practices appropriate for clients with fluency disorders
