Unit description

Designed as a staged thesis unit for the Social Sciences and Social Welfare Honours Programs. Students have the opportunity to complete a thesis under the guidance of a supervisor. This is the first of a series of thesis units for the Social Sciences and Social Welfare Honours Programs (the other units in the series are SOC40010, SOC40011).

Unit content

With guidance from an academic supervisor, students will typically cover the following topics during the unit:

  • Planning and conducting a research project
  • Relevant methodologies and methods
  • Literature review
  • Thesis planning
  • Conducting the research project
  • Writing a draft thesis
  • Completing the thesis for submission.

Learning outcomes and graduate attributes
