Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
describe the nature and content of science and technology in local and global contexts
examine personal values and attitudes towards science, technology and sustainability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sciences
clearly articulate accepted scientific conceptions related to key concepts/phenomena/events relevant and appropriate to the science and technology content studied and critically reflect on their own science and technology learning in relation to their discipline knowledge
use and analyse the processes of scientific investigation and design and production to employ critical and creative thinking to address local and global challenges
