Unit description

Introduces students to key concepts in Neuroscience and provides a neural basis for the understanding of the human nervous systems and how they function together in healthy and clinical context. 

Unit content

  • Overview of the nervous system
  • The cerebral cortex and vascular supply
  • The spinal cord, peripheral nerves and plexuses 
  • The motor systems 
  • The sensory systems
  • The autonomic nervous system
  • The cranial nerves and brainstem
  • Higher order functions of the nervous system
