Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 identify a suitable environmental/forestry/marine science or management issue or research topic.
2 plan and design a research project with a group of students (up to 3). The research project should fall within the parameters defined by the Unit Assessor.
3 design a quantitative or qualitative methodology for data analysis (group).
4 gather relevant information/data (group).
5 prepare a professional seminar (individually).
6 prepare a research proposal that includes Animal Care and Ethics/Human research Ethics if required, a budget and appropriate timelines (individually).
7 write a report that reviews relevant literature, documents the methodology, reports results and discusses the results in context of current literature (individually).
