Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

apply an in-depth knowledge of the experimental substance and theory of the major topics in sport and exercise psychology

interpret the influences that selected psychological factors have on lifelong participation in sport and exercise and health and fitness related activities and how participation in these arenas influences psychological health

analyse the skills and knowledge related to the application of applied psychology and sport and exercise psychology research into sport and exercise and fitness and health related skill situations

formulate the skills and knowledge for the purposes of client education and assessment including professional report writing, referral and communication in multidisciplinary settings

apply clinical reasoning to the application of psychological intervention in sport and exercise settings
