Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
describe the ways in which learning and memory have been studied, the critical results of these investigations, and competing theories that have been developed to account for these results
describe how knowledge of the theories and principles of learning and memory can be utilised in an applied context
critically evaluate theories of learning and memory in order to derive hypotheses about potential empirical tests of their principles
design and conduct empirical research that examines one or more theoretical constructs in learning and memory
write a research report based on methods and data from a learning and/or memory study as provided, and adhering to American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Guide style.
