    Knowledge of Marxist theory would be an advantage. Students must attend 4 days of intensive teaching. This unit may be offered in a Session (13 weeks) or Study Period (7 weeks), please note if offered in a Study Period it will have a heavier estimated student workload per week. Unit description

Investigates the current debate over the idea of communism. The unit examines issues such as the new cycle of struggles, class and identity and a return to communism. The contemporary critique of capitalism in a digital age (communicative capitalism) as well as the limits of media politics will be evaluated.
