Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

design relevant structured questions and identify the best evidence for answering those questions

identify the most appropriate data sources for evidence related to relevant structured questions

demonstrate understanding of the main health research philosophical perspectives and methodologies including their assumptions and practical applications

distinguish between different evidence types and research designs

critically appraise primary and secondary evidence to answer relevant structured questions.
