Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

understand and review the key principles of governance and accountability within the health, social and community services and their impact on decision-making

demonstrate the linkage between healthcare governance, accountability, and develop a framework for service evaluation and improvement

critically evaluate the internal and external factors affecting the ways in which health workers interact with each other and the effect this has on the safe and quality services for consumers

report on the legal implications of governance and accountability in health, social and community services
