Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate competence in calculations associated with measurement in epidemiology

identify and explain appropriate methodologies in the attribution of association and causation

evaluate the environmental, social, and cultural determinants of health in the Australian context

source and present scientific literature related to common questions on population health and health policy

relate the natural history of disease to models for disease screening and prevention.
