Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
evaluate the signs and symptoms of disease in a range of patient present
develop evidence-informed working diagnoses based on clinical guidelines and appropriate findings from physical examination, laboratory and imaging technologies
critically explore the integration of the osteopathic concept of health and disease with the diagnostic process
construct rational management of patient cases based on an integrated diagnostic process and incorporating the best available evidence for neuro-musculoskeletal rehabilitation and chronic pain management
defend working diagnoses and treatment plans using rational clinical reasoning and problem solving skills
evaluate the professional issues of osteopathic practice, including business skills, ethics, medico-legal and financial management
