Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

evaluate advanced clinical understanding of the structure and function of the viscera and autonomic nervous system.

develop and analyse critical questions about the evidence basis of the osteopathic health care concept

demonstrate and reflect upon safe and effective visceral techniques

interpret advanced osteopathic diagnosis, including integrating neuro-musculoskeletal, behavioural, energy expenditure and exchange and nutritional models

integrate advanced integrative osteopathic techniques

formulate advanced clinical reasoning in the osteopathic management of patient presentations in the obstetrical, gynaecological, genitourinary and gastrointestinal systems

demonstrate professional skills in readiness for independent practice
