Unit description

This unit examines the impact of occupational performance limitations on productivity and employment due to physical, cognitive and psychosocial impairments and environmental constraints. Students will develop skills in methods used to assess, maintain, restore and enhance productivity roles.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

articulate the purpose, scope and role of occupational therapy within workplace rehabilitation

analyse a productivity occupation through a detailed assessment of duties, tasks and critical demands

create evidence-based intervention strategies to enhance work occupations with consideration of relevant Australian legislation

demonstrate effective and professional communication skills related to occupational therapy practice in workplace rehabilitation
