This unit contains professional experience learning/ laboratory activities that require students to meet mandatory compliance requirements prior to attending. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in you being unable to undertake the Professional Experience Learning and/or stipulated Laboratory Activity which may result in failure of the unit. This requirement has been stipulated by the placement providers. It is strongly recommended that only students who meet this requirement enrol in this unit.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
conduct a comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment
generate a nursing care plan in consultation with the patient/client, their significant others and the multidisciplinary health care team
deliver comprehensive, safe and effective evidence-based nursing care to achieve identified health outcomes working as an individual and as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
evaluate and critically analyse clinical situations and respond using a decision-making framework
assess and critique safe management, administration and the quality use of medicines.
