Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
synthesise knowledge of physiological responses in acute health conditions to enable recognition and management of acute health breakdown
critique the effectiveness of the nurses’ response to acute health breakdown and the nursing management of acute health conditions
relate knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics to the management of acute health breakdown
appraise evidence based interventions to provide person centred care in acute care settings
