Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. 1 examine the clinical reasoning cycle and its application in the nursing context and evaluate the role of critical thinking abilities in maintaining safe and effective patient care
2 critique each stage of clinical reasoning cycle in the implementation of nursing care
3 interpret, apply and document the principles of physical assessment to the client's presentation/condition using the SOAP method of recording clinical information to justify the assessment
4 prepare a comprehensive patient health assessment and integrate findings and recommendations into a plan that can be shared with the multidisciplinary team
